High blood pressure (The Silent Killer)
As its name indicates, high blood pressure is known as SILENT killer precisely, because the vast majority of people who
get this disease - do not feel anything, they wrongly think that are healthy,
and unfortunately, they try to act when it is already too late.
In a previous post I talked about the vital signs - what
the normal levels of blood pressure (120/80 - 110/70) are and also when it is
on the verge of having blood pressure (130/85). But today I want to address the
issue of "high blood pressure", how it is produced and how we
could eventually improve this problem.
What is high blood
pressure?
For the blood that expels our heart can circulate through our arteries, veins and capillaries, it needs a force or impulse called pressure. Hence the importance of what I talked previously, about checking your lipids periodically, to keep your blood flow as freely as possible through our circulatory system. When this pressure is too strong, we say that the pressure being exerted by blood on the walls of the arteries is high, and therefore the heart is working too hard to achieve the goal of feeding all our bloodstream. We then, would be talking about a person with HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE.
It is important that we
can pay attention to this chart, so we can detect if our blood pressure is or
not out of control, and act in time before it is too late.
If you are in the stage
of prehypertension, Heads up!, Act and follow the recommendations I will give
down bellow. If you have everything
in your house, you have a new car, new clothes, a new phone but you do not have
a sphygmomanometer at home, then it is missing all! To control our blood
pressure means to love ourselves. You can save your life, it is
easy to take, and you should only sit down with the hand at the heart level, do
not talk, sit down from 5 to 10 minutes before taking it, and start a writing
record for your own personal register.
